There is no java 1.6 available from apple's developer site (today 10.10.07)
Although Java 1.6 is almost one year old 8-(

But there is a developer version, which is from September 06. A free registration is required.

Now, I found German installation instructions for the new java 1.6 on an IT-site.
Contact me if I should translate it into English.

Another solution would be to download an up to date linux like Knoppix and install the linux java 1.6 version.
